PLASMA SKIN TIGHTENING

Plasma Skin Tightening is a non-surgical cosmetic enhancement designed to shrink the skin using a sterile, disposable probe.  As we age the dermal layer thins and less collagen is produced which causes our skin to wrinkle and sag.

Fibroblasts are the collagen producing cells in the skin.  Fibroblast treatment is performed with a device called a plasma pen, which is used to produce plasma waves. The waves are directed as tiny light spots along the wrinkle lines. The Plasma Pen and our Fibroblasting technique are designed to dramatically repair, reverse and mitigate these signs of aging.

The pen is held above the skin and tiny plasma arc connects the tip of the device to the surface of the skin.  Using plasma waves the old collagen is removed by sublimation and Fibroblasts are stimulated to produce new collagen.  The targeted skin contracts and is essentially eliminated without any cutting, which results in the tightening and shrinking of the targeted area.

Benefits of Plasma Skin Tightening

This advanced procedure helps to revive natural levels of collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin needed for fresh youthful skin.  A series of tiny brown spots are strategically placed to attain the desired result.  The skin around the dot tightens instantly. Pulling the cells closer together.

Candidates

Candidates for treatment are patients with Fitzpatrick skin types i, ii, iii.  Patients with Fitzpatrick skin types iv, v and vi are at increased risk for pigmentary changes from the treatment and are not good candidates.

Post Procedure

Days 1-3:  INFLAMMATION STAGE.  1st response to wound healing is release of histamine…this swells the area substantially for 3 days.

Days 5-7: EXFOLIATION STAGE.  2nd response to wound healing is the natural shedding of the crusts.  Macrophages have now cleaned up the area and are happy that the surface is closed.

Days 5-28:  FIBROBLASTIC STAGE.  3rd response to wound healing when the signaling between fibroblasts begin and the proliferate collagen 1 to replace collagen 3, proliferate elastin and hyaluronic acid.

Week 4-12: MATURATION STAGE.  This is when the dermis becomes strong and tensile, the skin tightens andsmooths as the dermis is able to support the epidermis.

12 weeks:  Fully healed.

Results

Results are almost immediate with visible tightening.  Improvements continue for the next three months with continued tightening and improvements in wrinkles.  In some cases more than one session may be desired for further improvements.  We advice a series of three treatments.  Results typically last between 3 and 5 years.
